My passion for lampshades began a few years ago. Having always been interested in interior design, I studied for a City and Guilds qualification in Soft Furnishings to equip me with practical skills. This taught me the traditional techniques involved in crafting a lampshade.
I felt there was such limited choice on the high street for unusual, decorative lampshades so I set about creating my own designs using fine silks, feathers and passementerie which I then sold at craft fairs and through local shops. As my reputation for the craft grew, I progressed to working on a commission basis, and I enjoy the variety and challenge of each new commission.
I welcome enquiries from interior designers and from private customers, and have worked on shades of all shapes and sizes, from little candle shades through to shades of over a metre wide!
